DESCRIPTION:St. Austell Library and Playmake Theatre – (St. Austell)\nSt. Austell Library invited Playmake Theatre founder Mandy Hiscock to run open\nworkshops for young people creating wild and wonderful robots and cyborgs of their\nown design. Mandy is now working alongside Jam First Theatre hosting workshops\nwith young people to create a large puppet robot which will make an appearance on\nSaturday 18 th June along with the robots created at St. Austell Library. \nFinga Ninja Warrior – Jam First Theatre (St. Austell) from 11am\nOur comedy hosts/commentators Darren Seed and Larry Pears of Jam First Theatre\npresent the inaugural Finga Ninja Championships\, involving finger puppets\, people\nand miniature obstacle courses. Heats will run throughout the day from 11am\nculminating in the grand final at 3.30pm. No need to book\, just turn up and enter on\nthe day. Mandy Hiscock’s Playmake Theatre will also be joining the fun with the\nrobots and cyborgs created during the Library workshops plus the much-anticipated\nappearance of Andy The Android. \nPolyrhythm – All Day Music Workshop from 11 am\nPolyrhythm has a fantastic array of instruments for everyone to try\, whatever age or\nability. Running throughout the day\, the jam sessions will be held in the town centre\nculminating in a musical parade through the town at the end of the afternoon. \nSmorgers Bistro 12 noon – 10.30 pm Live Local Music &amp; Spoken Word\nPresented by Restormel Arts (St. Austell)\nHosted by Smorgers Bistro and presented by Restormel Arts the free live music\nbegins at 12 noon. Cornwall is rich with musicians of all genres and Restormel Arts\nare bringing a wide range of Cornish performers to entertain\, you might discover some\nrising stars on the programme. This is also an opportunity to hear talented Spoken\nWord performers from our local area. Fancy joining in? Bring your instrument or your\npoetry along for the Open Mic opportunities. \nBash Street Theatre\n2 pm – 3 pm Bash Street Theatre perform their fabulous family-friendly one hour\noutdoor show The Cameraman to St. Austell for the first time. This free performance\nof The Cameraman is a colourful musical comedy adventure and will delight young\nand old alike. \nSt. Austell Cultural Celebration and Community Championship. \nIncorporated into the day’s events are –\nCompetitions hosted by St. Austell Market House:\nJunior Baking\nAdult Baking\nHome Grown Vegetables\nFlower Arranging\nShop Window Treasure Hunt\nAppearances by the best-loved Star Wars Characters from 1 pm\nChildren’s Fancy Dress Competition and Parade. Theme – Film or Comi Con\nCharacter\nGiant games\, including Jenga – White River Place\nCircus Sideshow Style Games – Fore Street\nMini Football Tournament and Sports – Fore Street \n
