Sandy Brown’s commission, entitled Earth Goddess, is the tallest ceramic sculpture in the UK standing over 11.5 m high (which is bigger than 2 double busses on top of each other) and will be taking up residence in Alymer Square. The striking form is created from 5 large circles of clay. each built in 3 sections, placed on top of each other – looking like giant ceramic beads on a metal pole – with outstretched arms, about 6m wide, decorated with drops and flashes of bright colour.

This will form part of the grand final of the Austell Projects Ambitious cultural programme which includes public art & horticulture installations.
